Áureo & Calico sells exclusively through public auctions, since we believe that that is the fairest and most transparent way to operate.
No. We just sell property of third parties, and do not sell anything privately, only through auction.
We realise two different kind of auction: the virtual online auctions, which take place on the web on a signalled day; and the floor auctions, which are held in our premises.
Online auctions: You can send a bid before the auction, through our own website or at the several platforms where you can find us, by e-mail, postal service, fax, calling us by phone or leaving the bid sheet in our offices. Furthermore, the day of the auction you can follow it on the internet and place your bids in real time.
Floor auction: you may use the same mentioned systems; besides, you can attend the auction at our salesroom, or take part via telephone (upon previous request).
New customers should provide the personal data that are asked in the register form, including the id document. Also, commercial references from other numismatic firms are required once checked.
Most of the lots in auction are photographed in the catalogue. Besides, some ten days before the auction the lots are in display so they can be checked.
There is an auction nearly every month. You can check the calendar in our website.
The hammer price plus the 20% as buyer’s premium (taxes included); besides shipping and insurance costs (unless you pick up your purchases in our premises, in which case there will be no charges). There are not additional fees for bidding online, or for paying via credit card.
The final price is the lowest possible. If a lot has an starting price at 100 €, you offer up to 160 € and the highest bid before you offers 120 €, the lot will be awarded to you by 130 €, not by 160.
The same day of the auction, the invoices are sent via e-mail. If the auction lasts for two or more days, the invoices are sent the last day.
You can pay cash, by credit card or bank transfer. Checks are allowed only from Spanish residents. We do not accept payment through PayPal.
Yes. For two weeks since the day of the auction, the unsold lots remain available at the starting price plus the 20% premium and shipping and insurance fees.
The purchase amount has to be paid in a maximum term of 30 days.
Of course, if this is for a good reason. Conversely, return of group lots are not allowed in any circumstance.
All the lots are provided with a card stating the description, the auction data and, in the vast majority of cases, the photo of the item. This card is a certificate of athenticity.
All the lots are genuine unless otherwise specified. Nevertheless, should further investigation prove that a lot is a fake, AUREO & Calico will assume responsibility, with no expiry date.
